Shortly before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, I started my career as a business analyst/project manager at Florida Southwestern State College. I interviewed stakeholders, coordinated tasks with developers, ran reports, communicated across teams and managed projects from start to finish. I’ve carried that experience to each of my subsequent roles from web developer, webmaster, UX/UI designer to director of digital strategy in my last agency role. Altogether, I bring about 12 years of experience in business analysis, project management, design, and development.

It all started when I picked up a camera in my free time. I began taking and retouching photos, which led to designing graphics, then coding... all things that really interested me, challenged me and that were both technical and creative. Surprisingly, I enjoyed and excelled with each one more than I thought. With photography, I enjoy capturing beauty in plain sight, no matter how simple. Retouching allows me to enhance/optimize image quality and create digital art. With UX/UI design, I'm an artist with a digital canvas laid out in pixels. With development, I enjoy building web experiences that allow users to interact with a website, consume and share data, while helping clients meet their digital goals. Without a doubt, UX/UI design/development are my main passions and forté but I'm thankful that my other skills and hobbies support it.

After years of doing each, it led me to work as a digital director where I could put all of that knowledge and expertise to use providing oversight for distributed, cross functional teams. I've reached a point in my career where I enjoy mentoring designers and developers as well as supporting digital operations to help organizations to meet their goals.

In the meantime, I'm freelancing through Codeable as a WordPress expert and my company On The Map Media as a Digital Director with select clients for websites, graphics, photography and retouching.
